See the Sea

This is a little art piece I'm working on.  I'm adding cut-out inked illustrations to create a scene on top of FELIX GONZALEZ-TORRES "UNTITLED" 1991- that I picked up at the Walker.

Stumptown Trade Review!

I just came across this nice article about the Lutefisk Sushi Comic Box I was recently apart of.   Brian Gardes wrote a good description about mini comics, and referred my comic as one of the highlights!
Thanks Brian!

Topsight Games!

http://www.facebook.com/TopsightGames

This will be the posting site for Jason and my board game company.  Our first project is called "Lobby Land."   It's a competitive victory-point-style-education-based game to help gain a better understanding of our governmental system.  You play as a Lobbyist trying to pass your bills while trying to hinder the other lobbyists to promote your own progress.  Should be interesting to see how this project pans out so I'm pretty excited!

Swimming Puppy

I finally had some time to play with some photoshop comboed with an ink drawing and watercolor textures.

This Thursday the 28th I'll be hosting the Drawing Club at the Walker Art Center!  It's a great chance to meet many like minded doodlers and to just play with the materials provided!  The event will be going from 4-8 pm.  Family and friends are welcome plus its all free!

This is the latest "It Is What It Is"- Caught in the Act!  I've been a little busy to keep up with posting these so there's quite a few strips to catch up on.  There all posted on the MN Artist Blog http://blogs.walkerart.org/mnartists/ under the category It Is What It is, (of course!)  I will eventually like to get a page up just for them soon, as well as for my other comic Natural Catastrophes- YES! SO MUCH MORE FOR ALL TO SEE!

If you were my mother, you may have gotten a card like this.

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

Hey everyone! I was recently on college radio station Radio K for my comic "It Is What It Is". It's a fun little bit themed around satire, and definitely would like to thank my editor Susannah McNeely Schouweiler for her great comments!

It Is What It Is - "

Whoa!!! I am getting behind on these, well I've been a little busy and making them is always funner than posting them so I tend to get sidetracked.  But if you really want to keep up with the comic check it out at http://blogs.walkerart.org/mnartists

Guided Laser!!!

This is a project I came up with, where I took CD's and created a base out of popsicle sticks (so the CD's were some-what level) and a laser pointer.  I divided the kids into two groups so that each group had a laser pointer and their CD's.  Then they had to guide the laser until it reached each member of their group's CD before the other group.  This project was really fun because it required a lot team work and focus so that each member received the laser to bounce it off their CD and then had to find where it was going so that they could steer it to the next kid in the group.
